Scrooge
This piece didn’t start as a slogan. It started as a feeling.
For years I’ve been interested in the space where humour and discomfort overlap. A space where something playful carries a sharper undertone.
What happens when a phrase is said again and again? Does it lose power or settle deeper?
Scrooge, the world’s most lovable billionaire duck. Greedy but cute. It’s hard to be furious at a character you grew up with.
The process is slow and physical. Cutting by hand. Layering colour. Detailing with inks. The final pastel marks are instinctive; less about precision, more about presence. I like when the hand is visible. When the work feels lived in.
