Mr Monopoly
Monopoly taught me two things:
1. The person with the most money wins.
2. Cheating is fine if you don’t get caught.
Strange thing to teach kids, really.
It’s a children’s game, which is comforting. Less comforting when you realise it’s basically about property, power and quietly ruining your friends.
This piece sits somewhere in that space.
Between harmless fun and “oh right… that’s how it works.”
The piece is made the slow way. Hand cut stencils, spray paint, ink, then a slightly wonky pastel finish.
Nothing too perfect. Nothing too clean. Like the game.
If you want one, take one.
Just don’t flip the board.
